I am a clinical psychologist who earned my PhD at the University at Buffalo, State University of New York. I have a specific interest in Health Psychology, including therapy for individuals struggling with acute medical diagnoses or chronic pain. I have worked at both Roswell Park Medical Center and Erie County Medical Center providing behavioral medicine services. More recently, I worked with individuals struggling with substance abuse at a Veterans Health Administration Mental Health Clinic. Many of my patients had difficulty coping with chronic pain without the use of opioids.
I also provide therapy to individuals struggling with a variety of other mental health disorders. This includes anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, trauma and adjustment-related disorders, Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and substance use disorders.
My goal is to take a wholistic approach to therapy. When considering mental health diagnosis and treatment planning, I look at the entire person. I do not just identify their current symptoms but also learn about their values, life goals, and past experiences. Every individual is unique, which means every individual’s mental health treatment should be too. I choose research-supported skills and treatment methods that align with each individual’s personal style, finding what therapy works best for that person specifically. What this means for you is that I take a client-centered approach, flexibly altering therapy as needed to help you feel heard and supported while you work towards your goals.
I look forward to learning more about you and your needs!
