I am a clinical psychologist who earned my PhD at the University at Buffalo, State University of New York. I have a specific interest in Health Psychology, including the treatment of individuals struggling with acute medical diagnoses or chronic pain. I have worked at both Roswell Park Medical Center and Erie County Medical Center providing behavioral medicine services. More recently, I worked with individuals struggling with substance abuse at a Veterans Health Administration Mental Health Clinic. Many of my patients had difficulty finding a way to manage chronic pain without the use of opioids.
I also have significant generalist training, allowing me to treat individuals struggling with a variety of mental health disorders. This includes individuals with anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, trauma and adjustment-related disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g., Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), and substance use disorders.
My goal is to take a wholistic approach to client treatment. When considering diagnosis and treatment planning, I look at the entire person. I do not just identify their current symptoms but also learn about their values, life goals, and past experiences. Every individual is unique, which means every individual’s treatment should be too. I choose research-supported skills and treatment methods that align with each individual’s personal style, finding what works best for that person specifically. What this means for you is that I take a client-centered approach, flexibly altering treatment as needed to help you feel heard and supported while you work towards your goals.
I look forward to learning more about you and your needs!
